SATURDAY 2ND-SUNDAY 3RD MARCH
TAKE / HOLD is an event curated by Forecast Events and Balanced Flow Yoga exploring the themes of positive body image, self-worth and the celebration of women’s bodies.
The event kicks off the week of Women’s International Day and brings together two visual mediums; a film screening and an exhibition, to create a powerful insight into this important issue which has never been more relevant in society.
We are screening the powerful documentary Embrace at The Whitworth Art Gallery Saturday 2nd March 2019 at 2pm.
Embrace follows The Body Image Movement activist Taryn Brumfitt’s crusade as she explores the global issue of body loathing, inspiring us to change the way we feel about ourselves and think about our bodies.
We are curating a collection of original artwork celebrating women’s bodies and exploring the themes of body image and self worth.
Thank you to everyone who submitted a design.
All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting The Body Image Movement, along with the Teen Yoga Foundation whose mission is to promote the well-being of young people through the practice of yoga and mindfulness, and local organisation Girls Out Loud, who work to empower and inspire teenage girls to have confidence, self-belief, emotional resilience and a positive self image.
